Reflection in the mirror of history
23.08.2012 00:00
Recently riding in a taxi, as often happens, I entered into a conversation with a driver, I've mentally summarized his method of survival in post-Soviet conditions and suddenly I understood how often I meet people who rely only on themselves and requiring from the State only a general order. This is a normal civilized attitude.A builder by profession, the taxi driver works hard, his wife works in the tourist sector, they renovated their house with their own hands, however, they had to borrow money from their friends in Rostov-on-Don, but they already returned them back, they have three children, two go to school. And even once the couple has not gone to ask money from the state, relying only on themselves. Of course, the first few years were very hard, it happened so that they did not get enough to eat, but endured, just remains to rehabilitate the bathroom, and they can relax a little.
Such people are the backbone of any society, any nation.
And the more of them are in the country, so it is viable. No state regulation replaces an individual energy of a citizen who builds his life himself.
This should be taught at home and school to adulthood young people came to a clearly formulated lifestyle: I myself am responsible for my life, thanks to parents, but then he has to plow like father Carlo, and create a living space to live comfortable.
And such young families I see around. Until we were cooked in the continuous political passions, tearing our small society, a new generation has imperceptibly grown up with many professionals in various fields. They quietly and confidently do their business, and that's fine - gradually a more stable social environment is being created.
It would be good even in addition to that, we have finally begun to clean up not only at home but also around - in the courtyard, in the street and district. People who respects themselves would not for years and decades walk past piles of garbage, on which fig tree has already grown up. They will clean it, maybe with the help of Public Utilities, and then they will not throw bags with leavings and will not allow others to do it!
Once a French King Louis XIV narcissistically declared, "The state - that's me!". Unlikely he would have thought that after a few centuries any common citizen can not say the same, because in fact it is true. The state - is a reflection of us in the mirror of history. The more we are independent, the more independent is our state.
