The Initiative Is Not Punishable!
22.05.2012 00:00
Last years traveling in Abkhazia I noticed with pleasure that many people try to decorate their yard, lawn in front of the shop, sometimes even a corner, which seems is not theirs at all. Of course, the country is not yet fully cared of, not speaking about destroyed buildings; the quantity of them is not small yet. But a keen eye is able to seize the will of common people to make the country attractive.Several years ago the Sukhum Administration allotted money to plant many bright flowers on the town lawns and this was very noticeable, lawns decorated splendidly with flowers gladdened the eye when you pass them in the car. Unfortunately, summer turned out arid and the attempts to pour lawns did not save them and most flowers died. Perhaps this stopped the administration from next planting gestures, but it is a pity. It is impossible to present a modern city without lawns with lots of flowers.
I remember as once in the Internet I found a wonderful picture of some European lawn, the bush was cut in the form of a peacock, and a luxurious tail made up from different flowers! I envied that it is not at our place.
In the Egyptian resorts along the Red Sea every palm – tree has its hose, otherwise in these sands it will not survive. In our climate it is not so hard, it is enough to plant a tree and pour it first three days and further it starts its life and need no man’s effort.
Though with all this luxury of Abkhaz subtropical nature we must help it look effective, so even nothing prevents a very beautiful woman to have an exquisite make-up.
In many countries there are festivals of observing nature, Japanese bliss out of Japanese cherry - tree. Americans gather in autumn in the state Wyoming to enjoy flaming leafage, Italians in February organize festivals of folk music when almonds blossom. Tourists come to all of these places and it helps to earn money in a civilized way and with such pure feeling as love to the nature.
In Abkhazia where practically all year round something blossoms, God himself told to prepare beforehand for such festivals and specially to plant in different places plants for which our climate is good. For example, in winter camellia blossoms, it is a flower connected to literature and musical associations. It is possible to make a wonderful park of white and crimson camelia in Ochanchira and to hold there festivals of opera music for sentiment fans In autumn persimmon with its fruit looks wonderfully, especially for the people from the Northern countries where in these months it already snow. People from North would come with pleasure for some days to Gudauta to listen to the Abkhaz and North – Caucasian folk ensembles performing in an open platform among a pictorial group of trees with juicy persimmon.
With Tsiza Gumba we are dreaming to plant alternately wisteria and cypress, an alley around the monument to the killed and a future monument to a historian Georgy Dzidzaria. In April and May lilac sprays of wisteria would hang between dark and green, pointed cypresses and all this in the background of still covered with snow mountains. It would be an entire natural and landscape complex, emphasizing loftiness of posthumous memory.
For those who want to participate in making such complex with money or personal work I am giving the mobile number of Tsiza Gumba 9-21-08-25. If you like to do something of which the heart sank even in a flash.
