Will Raul Khajimba Become a Speaker?
06.04.2012 00:00
The new composition of the parliament apparently promises more interesting political game than the previous one. In this scenario, Raul Khajimba have a real chance to claim a position of a Speaker, which with Nugzar Ashuba became very snug. If Raul Dzhumkovich will succeed to obtain this position, it will become a new political reality he has never been before. First time in his life he could become an independent political figure. As a prime minister under Vladislav Ardzinba, he shone with reflected light, being a vice-president of Sergei Bagapsh he was hiding in the shadows of disagreement with the main line of an alien power. The role of the leader of the opposition, too, was hard for him, as it demanded not only criticism of the government, but a contrary program of the country development. To be a member of the opposition in the role of speaker of the parliament is even more complicated. You will need regularly and well - reasoned to oppose the government to explain your disagreement to the society. You must have at least a small team of people having the same views. All the same you have to play on the same field with authorities, and any mistake will be perceived by the society differently - you yourself are in power, you have the authority, and you can influence, but not just criticize.
In the history there are a lot of examples when coming out to the first roles highlights hidden reserves of a politician but as well as his inability to real business - Khajimba appeared in the center of political power, and it will soon force him to demonstrate either his strength, or his weakness.
The results of the second round confirmed that the current government is not particularly strained with an administrative resource, and the party "United Abkhazia" is blowing away, like a punctured ball, right in front of us. Until the late Sergey Vasilievych supported the party with his powerful shoulder, it seemed to be the ruling party, and it attracted many under power privileges. Now the "United Abkhazia" is almost as helpless as the rest of the parties in our country. Somehow, we are not lucky with the parties, although just socio-political movements have some vital force, and the last one have withered lately. Therefore, during the parliamentary elections the electorate divided between personal likings and family ties.
The composition of the Parliament rejuvenated and for the first time their appeared a banker - Arthur Mikvabia. Typically, the bankers themselves rarely go into politics, preferring to pull his puppets behind the scenes, but in our case it is difficult to hide the puppet, so it's better to try yourself. The hard character of Arthur Artemovich hardly will allow him to gain the sympathy of a large number of his colleagues, but some sort of group of influence, he could arrange.
In the previous Parliament, only two members, the late Vladimir Nachach-oglu and not elected in the new parliament Batal Kobakhia have initiated the adoption of new laws, other projects were brought by other subjects of legislative initiative. I wish the newly elected people did not forget about their straight duties, and finally put in order the largely outdated Abkhazian legislation.
Frankly speaking, each new composition of our Parliament looks weaker than the previous one, like the first "golden" Parliament has exhausted all efforts at this level. What if the current MPs will present a surprise to us and make our political reality more diverse.
